Mind Mouth

Mind Mouth is a theatrical experience that unfolds not on stage – but in your mouth and body. Through audio and edible samples, your senses will be stimulated. All your senses except your eyes. It’s not as if you won’t see anything. Your imagination will take over, making you the protagonist in the story, and food becomes various characters. Mind Mouth is about the power of imagination. A power we all possess and that unconsciously influences us throughout the day.

About Marije Vogelzang

Marije Vogelzang (1978, Enschede) is a visionary designer, speaker, and author who has made significant contributions to the Food Design discipline since 1999. She is one of the pioneers of a field that did not exist in the early ’90s and has since gained global recognition and impact in the form of Food Design programs, individual Food Designers, institutions, networks and Food Design departments within companies. With a distinguished career, Marije’s innovative work has been in the spotlight worldwide, captivating and inspiring people to view food differently or to see life differently through food.

Between 2004 and 2011, she operated two experimental restaurants/design studios in Rotterdam and Amsterdam called Proef. She has always carried out her work as an independent designer, materializing it in installations, performances, exhibitions, and products, all showcased globally. Vogelzang’s projects have been exhibited from the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York. She has developed various projects with Droog, including the Sharing Dinner concept, where 40 people shared food with their heads through the tablecloth. In her latest book, ‘Lick it,’ she revolutionizes our understanding of the essence of food.

With each project, exhibition, lecture, and written word, Marije Vogelzang continually pushes the boundaries of Food and design. Her visionary approach, commitment to education, and dedication to transforming our relationship with food make her an inspiration for anyone embracing imagination.
