Nature is for the birds! In this community bird walk, participants will become familiar with our local “backyard birds” and migratory birds and be able to identify them with sight and sound. This walking workshop will allow us to discuss community and bird behavior across themes of migration, symbolism, and more.
Each walk will end with a moment of reflection and journaling in response to a writing prompt provided by the artist.
April Prompt:
Planting native plants is a good way to feed our local birds as well as migratory species. Bird populations can be an indicator of the health of our larger environment. Planting native species is also great for our local ecosystem and can be a way for humans to pour into the natural environment that we take so much from. What are some ways we can pour into our local communities? What are some indicators of the health and wellbeing of our communities and neighbors?
