Hyungi Park is a Korean-American multidisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles and New York. Her diverse practice spans art, incense making, tattooing, and design. Hyungi teaches classes on incense and bookbinding and directs Goyo, a creative studio and store with locations in Los Angeles and Brooklyn. In her work, she combines deep research into traditional methods and history with a pursuit of modern innovation. Hyungi has participated in the NEW INC Creative Science track in 2024 and the Eyebeam Rapid Response for a Better Digital Future Fellowship in 2020. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, and she has spoken at a Scent Panel at MOCA in Los Angeles, CA.
Attendees learn about the history of incense, different types and uses of incense, and the process of making natural incense by hand. The workshop includes all materials to make a single batch of incense (approximately 10 one inch cones) and an informational zine to take home.
