Is food women’s work? Join MOLD and the Food Design Collective for a one-day symposium in Barcelona Friday, May 19th.
How are food, design and femininity related? Food Design Collective presents the work of ten women from the field of design, gastronomy, education and culture. Organized around five sub-themes, the presentations will address Food, Scene, Method, Object and Community with an experience food ritual by MUNAY-KI and a dinner and party by the art provocateurs, Juicy Food Porn.
In the first “capsule” of Food Design Collective’s ongoing program of conferences, speakers including Franchesca Sarti of Arabeschi di Latte, Yaiza Agata Bocos Mirabella of elBulli Lab, and Ada Parellada of the innovative restaurant, Semproniana who will all address questions of femininity in their work and how design can reshape gastronomy and identity.
Food Design Collective is the creative platform based in Barcelona that explores the interaction between food and design, through content capsules (Conferences, exhibitions, fairs, happenings, publications, workshops, etc) that showcase the potential of food design through the filter of sociocultural tendencies linked to the future of food.
