Indonesian art direction and set design duo The Taable makes humorous images that “explore the mundane of everyday with a zest of the absurd.” As co-founder Axel Oswith told MOLD, “Not allowing it to be direct, our works invite the viewer to question and speculate on what they see and experience, hence, every piece is open to ones own interpretation with no right or wrong answers.”
For MOLD’s design week newspaper, SNACKS #01, The Taable created “Home-meal Bread” as a metaphor for starting the day right, feeling at home with a slice of toast. For The Taable, food and this everyday pantry staple becomes a signifier of “home.”
